Hovelsrud gård

On the small, heart shaped island of Helgøya - situated in Norway’s biggest lake, Mjøsa - lies Hovelsrud, a beautiful, empire style manor house from the 1840s.

Recently, it’s rooms and garden have been restored to their former splendour, and eight spacious rooms are ready to accommodate house guests.

Scandinavian Design Group has developed a visual identity for the house and garden at Hovelsrud. The overall identity plays around the surprise element of a sumptuous inside that is wrapped in a minimalist-looking exterior - just like the house itself. Here a rich interior of heavily decorated wallpapers is found within the no-fuss, pink-painted wooden exterior.
