Challenge

For over 20 years the Wisløf brothers have been offering trips at their open air park along the fantastic Alta river canyon in northern Norway, including scooter safaris in the breathtaking mountain plateaus, an ice hotel, and one of the best restaurants in the area. They came to SDG to help tell the story of their resort to the private and corporate markets in Norway, Scandinavia and Europe.

Solution

The surrounding scenery is what defines the resort and it was the natural starting point for our creative exploration. The Alta river runs through it and the surrounding area has for many years been the backbone of the local community. This area is called Sorrisniva, which proved to be an ideal name for the new brand. In developing the full identity we were also inspired by the contrasts found in nature, such as earth and snow, ice and water, summer and winter, and midnight sun and darkness. The river as a core element in the visual identity effortlessly supports the varied business operations and ensures a consistent brand experience across all channels.
